• Move towards what matters.

Values-based therapy for individuals & couples in Austin, Texas and virtually throughout Texas and Florida.

I help people connect more deeply to themselves and take meaningful steps toward the future they’re trying to build.

Welcome! I’m Hilary,

If you’re here, you’re ready for something to change, even if you’re not sure what it is yet. You may have been to therapy before and have a lot of insight into your struggles. While insight has been helpful, you’re ready to move from understanding your patterns to actually living differently.

If that sounds like you, I’m glad you made it here. In our work together, we’ll turn insight into action so you can go from living in your head to moving with your feet. We'll pull from the past when it's useful but will stay centered on clarifying what matters to you now, identifying what gets in the way of taking steps forward, and experimenting with new ways of responding when things feel uncertain, overwhelming or hopeless.

Areas of Focus

  • When anxiety or intense emotions feel too big, our instinct is to fight them, pretend they don’t exist, or shut them down completely until we’re numb. That may work for a while, but it’s only a matter of time until it all comes out sideways, and you’ve learned that the hard way. You've tried all the tips, tricks, strategies and substances to make these feelings disappear, and when those don't work, you feel out of control. Together, we'll work on developing a new relationship with your emotions so you can start to have your feelings without your feelings having you.

  • Research shows that relationship quality plays a key role in our well-being and health. When our closest relationships are marked by ongoing conflict or tension, it can take a real toll. Whether you're struggling with family, a partner, friends, or colleagues, we'll work together to identify the patterns contributing to your distress. From there, we'll focus on improving communication, managing conflict, and setting boundaries so your relationships can feel healthier and more authentic.

  • Many of us learned early that being fully ourselves wasn't safe or welcome. Maybe you spent a lot of time in environments where you weren't allowed to be yourself. At home or at school you were criticized for being "too much" or "too sensitive," and made to feel like a burden. Maybe the criticism wasn't overt, but you sensed it wasn't okay to express yourself, so you stayed small and kept to yourself during a time when you could have really used connection and support. Or maybe no one paid much attention to you at all, and you felt like an outsider or an afterthought. After so long of keeping yourself shielded and protected, it can be hard to know how to stop. You may be in a different place now, but those old feelings of fear and shame still creep in, and you're not sure what to do with them. Part of you worries those old stories about yourself might be true…

Together, we'll work on rebuilding the relationship you have with yourself by identifying where those patterns came from, how they still show up today, and developing a new relationship with them, so you can lean into who you are, affirm your identity, and build genuine self-acceptance.

  • Any time we're entering unknown territory, it’s natural for our guard to go up. Maybe you're questioning a new role, adjusting to life without a loved one, or facing a big decision about a relationship or a job. Or maybe you're not feeling settled and know you need a shift, but you're not sure what it is yet.

Together, we'll learn to sit with the uncertainty instead of fighting it. We'll explore this uncharted territory together, identifying the strengths and resources you already have, so you can move forward with steadiness and trust in yourself, even when the path ahead isn't clear.

  • With so much competition for our attention, it's easy to lose touch with what actually matters. Maybe you realize you've been operating on autopilot for years and don't know what you care about anymore. Maybe you're so used to caring for others that you feel disconnected from yourself. Or maybe you know exactly what matters to you, but fear, self-doubt, or old habits keep getting in the way of actually living it.

Together, we'll cut through the noise and reconnect you with your own compass. We'll spend time getting curious about you and reconnecting with what matters (or figuring out what that is!), then work together on practical, doable steps to close the gap between your values and your daily life so you can show up with intention, authenticity, and vitality.

I Work Best With People Who…

  • ...have insight into their patterns but struggle to translate that insight into meaningful change.

  • ...have been in therapy before and are looking for a more active or forward-moving approach.

  • …are skeptical about therapy but open to trying something different.

  • …spend a lot of time in their heads and want support taking intentional steps forward.

  • …feel tired of reacting to what feels urgent in the moment and want to engage with life more intentionally.

  • …feel overwhelmed by strong emotions that are driving their decisions more than they want them to.

Let’s cut through the noise and find what resonates.
